Daily COVID-19 reports have become kind of predictable.

As of 12pm today (29 Jul), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 133 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

129 of them are community cases.

Of the 129 locally-transmitted cases, 50 are currently unlinked. 2 cases belong to the KTV cluster, while 30 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 64,722.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 765 cases in the week before to 915 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 45 cases in the week before to 217 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 99.7 and 31 respectively.

5 New Clusters Reported Yesterday (28 July), Including a Bakery in Jurong

At the start of the month, we’d report maybe five to ten new COVID-19 infections a day.  Now, that’s the number of new clusters we’re identifying daily.

Yesterday (28 July), five new clusters were confirmed, bringing the total number of active clusters here to 44.

One is linked to Home’s Favourite, a bakery in Jurong Food Hub, while the remaining four clusters involve individual cases.

MOH’s investigations found that there is likely ongoing transmission at Home Favourite’s premises, and have thus closed the bakery for two weeks until 12 Aug.

All staff members will also be placed on quarantine and tested.

The bakery cluster currently has 6 cases, while the other four clusters have three to four cases each.
