The NUH saga has created quite a hoo-ha online—so much so that even Health Minister Ong Ye Kung has come out to talk about it.

Someone even fabricated a similar story in another hospital, and the police has to be involved.

Now, there might finally be a closure.

Man in NUH Saga Now Said Miscarriage Might Not Have Occurred in Hospital

In the latest update by the husband, he said that he has been having a few meetings with NUH, and certain facts have been clarified.

On the part about profuse bleeding, he now said that his wife was bleeding profusely at home, but by the time she was in the hospital, the bleeding “has subsided but not to a certain extent that bleeding has stopped.”

In his previous post, he had said that his wife was “left there [hospital] bleeding profusely and left unattended for an estimated time of 2 hours.”

In the new post, he also mentioned that the nurses did check on his wife regularly.

In his previous post, he said that no “doctors and nurses came to check and attend to my wife for 2 hours and no one informed her that there is no bed in the maternity ward.”

He now concluded that “based on the information provided by the hospital, we realised that the miscarriage may not have occurred at the hospital E&D.”

He added, “I recognised and apologised that my original post on FB has created unintended speculation and abuse of staffs (sic). After clarifications on the the (sic) facts with the hospital, i(sic) would like to thank them for saving my wife.

“We wish to clarify that matter has been resolved and we will not be making any further comments on her case.”

According to NUH, medical workers attended to his wife immediately when she arrived, and noted that her bleeding had subsided on the ambulance. Her vital signs were also within normal ranges, and the lady indicated that she was experiencing only mild pain.

She was thus deemed to be stable, and since she was in early labour, she was arranged to be transferred to the labour ward as soon as possible. She was also placed next to the nursing station for better visual monitoring.

However, NUH acknowledged that they could’ve done better given that a pregnant lady has to wait two hours before being attended to.
