The circuit breaker measures targeted at breaking the chain of transmission first took into effect on 7 April 2020.

It announced that all non-essential services would be closed while we could no longer dine-in at restaurants.

Since it was first implemented, much has changed, including the introduction of new measures like making it compulsory for everyone to wear masks, seeing as even asymptomatic people can spread the virus.

Apparently, there are implications to this:

Jogger Found 20 Discarded Masks on the Ground in a Run; Expect Things to Worsen Since Masks Are Now Compulsory

Used masks have been littering the streets of Singapore as of late, and this could be due to the new measure.

A netizen named Adrian took to Facebook to share with Facebook Group Reduce, Reuse, Refuse – Singapore what he bumped into as he went on a run.

Hint: It wasn’t pleasant.

He had bumped into a grand total of around 20 surgical masks as he ran around 1.5km at Pasir Ris.

Lest you can’t see it, his post says:

“PLEASE SHARE.

Saw these today while on a run. Taken over only a 1.5k part of my run. I’m not suggesting we go picking up other people’s trash right now let’s encourage people to take their masks home and bin them. PLEASE SHARE”

Around 15 Masks Spotted On The Ground

In total, he had bumped into over 15 different masks of all colours and types.

A rare Pokemon N95 mask was spotted in the mix too.

He had bumped into the masks at three different locations: Pasir Ris Drive 1, Pasir Ris Drive 8, Tampines Ave 12.

He also encouraged everyone to share the news and reminds them to throw away their masks into rubbish bins like any responsible human being would.

Not only is it extremely unhygienic and irresponsible, but it also poses a danger to those who have to pick it up for you and bin it on your behalf.

So please, dispose of your masks responsibly, especially now that wearing masks have been made compulsory.

Masks Are Compulsory Now

Lest you’re unaware, the government just made it compulsory to wear masks whenever you’re out and about.

At first, we only needed to wear masks when we were at the markets. Then, we had to wear masks at supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies and malls.

Then it was public transport and banks.

And now, all of Singapore would have to wear masks when you head out.

If you don’t comply you can get fined $300.

This is because there’s increasing evidence that people can transmit Covid-19 to others before they experience symptoms (presymptomatic) or even when they don’t experience symptoms at all (asymptomatic).
