Everyone knows that you need a green Yusof Ishak note in order to order three dishes in cai png.

A purple note would is only enough for a drink.

But if you live in Hougang Ave 6, you might be able to get a cai png with three dishes for merely $2, and once of them can be sardines.

This article is really written in 2022, not 1980.

Hougang Hawker Sells 3-Dish Cai Png for $2

On average, a cai png meal with three vegetables, or one meat and one vegetable, would cost about $2.50 to $3.50 in a hawker centre.

It’s even be more experience if you’re in a coffee shop, and worse if you’re in a shopping mall food court.

So for a stall to sell cai png at $2 for three dishes?

It deserves a spot as the cai png of the year.

A cai png stall at Block 6 Hougang Ave 3 is selling three dishes for $2, and even classifies some meat dishes, such as luncheon meat, sardines and otah, as vegetables.

The best part? They’ve no plans to raise prices despite the rising food costs.

And they’re not the only stall to do that in the northeast part of Singapore.

Serangoon Hawker Also Sells 3-Dish Cai Png for $2

According to Shin Min, there’s another hawker at Block 262 Serangoon Central that sells cai png for $2 for three vegetable dishes.

And they’ve maintained this price for the last ten years.

Yup, this means they’ve not raised price even when COVID-19 hit, or even when Russia invaded Ukraine.

And they intend to maintain this price when prices of everything are raising.

Now, before you throw any eggs at me, I do know that there are several other affordable cai png stalls which might not be reported here.

Yes, these are the heroes that we don’t deserve.

P.S. Also, don’t throw any eggs. They’re getting more expensive.
