Well, it seems that it isn’t only Twitter’s tweet-viewing limit that’s making people unhappy.

Its new logo has been doing that too. Specifically, the big X sign planted at Twitter HQ.

Before that, if you want to know why Twitter rebranded itself to X, you can watch the video below:

Done? Okay, let’s carry on.

Big X Sign Removed from Twitter HQ After Complaints About Its Brightness

On Friday, Twitter- sorry, I mean X installed a gigantic “X” sign on its HQ located in San Francisco.

It’s big, bright, and should probably come with a warning about possible seizures with its pulsing lights.

Unfortunately, the sign only managed to last one weekend.

There were 24 complaints lodged against the bright, flashing X over the weekend.

The lights also seemed to have a strobing effect.

And one person knew of someone who allegedly suffered from a bout of epileptic seizure due to the sign

One pointed out how inconsiderate the company’s move was to people living in the surrounding buildings.

On 31 July 2023, the X sign was taken down.

The company was also slapped with a notice of violation as they had not sought permission from the city before installing the big X.

Blocked City Officials Twice

Twitter will be fined for installing the logo without a permit, according to the Department of Building Inspection (DBI) in San Francisco.

The fine will include fees for the removal of structure and the building permit, as well as the cost of the planning department and DBI investigations.

It was written in a report by a DBI inspector that city officials were refused roof access twice to inspect the structure.

One of the company representatives had allegedly said that the light up was “temporary”.

Apparently, this isn’t the first time Twitter is caught doing something without a permit within a week.

The first time, the company was stopped from removing its own Twitter sign from the building. Allegedly, it did not have the proper permits.
