Not everyone watches the Star Awards to see who’ll win.

Some of us watch for the bloopers (if any), some for the live performances, while others look forward to the overseas guests who present the awards.

After all, superstars like Andy Lau, Tony Leung, and Aaron Kwok have all been guests before.

This year, we’ve got someone even from Korea.

Here’s the list of international stars who will grace the event and what to expect.

What to Expect from the Star Awards If You Don’t Care Who’ll Win

The Star Awards 2024 on 21 April will be filled with a mix of international celebrities and local talents gracing the stage.

Onew, the leader of the K-pop group SHINee, and Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh are among the luminaries gracing the event.

Adding to the international flavor, Taiwanese singer Chao Chuan will perform, while Taiwanese actor Chen Bo-lin will serve as an award presenter alongside Onew and Sheh.

It will be hosted by veteran artists Guo Liang and Dennis Chew. The event will also spotlight Singapore’s own veteran stars, including actors Boon Hui Lu, Felicia Chin, Jeanette Aw, Rebecca Lim, Xiang Yun, Xu Bin, and Zoe Tay.

Yes, you should feel old if you think Rebecca Lim and Xu Bin as veterans. Gen-Zs don’t even know how to turn on the television.

If you’re watching just for the performances, fret not; there are many.

Singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono, EDM artist Jasmine Sokko, hip-hop artist Tosh Rock, and singer Desmond Ng will all be performing. Together, Rock and Ng will perform a medley in honor of the Best Theme Song nominees.

We’re just short of Taylor Swift.

Other than the main show, there will be other programs to complement it.

There’s the Star Award 2024’s Walk Of Fame, a prelude to the main event, which will be hosted by YES 933 DJ Hazelle Teo and Jeff Goh, together with actor Herman Keh.

Additionally, the Backstage LIVE program returns with a fresh twist, featuring two teams, Team Outcasts and Team SGAG, competing in a series of seven-hour challenges.

The Star Awards 2024 live show, including the Walk of Fame, will be broadcast across Channel 8 and U, meWATCH, and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel.

Exclusive online content, such as Backstage LIVE and Gala Night highlights, will only be available on meWATCH and its YouTube channel.
