So everybody knows that Monday Blues is a term used to describe the feeling of sadness, lack of interest, laziness, tiredness or another better way to put is feeling down in the dumps on a Monday.

We all know this feeling and we’ll be facing it every Monday for the rest of our lives—Perhaps. It’s definitely a syndrome that’s hard to shake off.

Monday Blues is Dissatisfaction

However, did you know that Monday Blues is just another convenient term to describe the mere dissatisfaction you have towards how you’re living your life?

That’s right, and that my friends, is a problem that cannot be fixed with a morning cup of coffee.

Believe it or not, there are some very lucky people out there who don’t suffer from the Monday Blues at all? In fact, they enjoy Mondays just like every other day and how’s that even possible?

They love their jobs

Well, first of all, they don’t programme themselves to hate Mondays as normal people do.

These people are often those who have low-level stress jobs, they actually love their jobs too and find it satisfying.

And they also have a balanced kind of lifestyle.

Then there’s us on the other end of the spectrum who loathe Mondays after a nice weekend of sleeping in and doing nothing.

We did it to ourselves

We have programmed ourselves to hate Mondays so religiously because going to our day job on the first day of the week is a reality check of just how much we hate our job.

It’s a very emotional ordeal but it passes and begins all over again the following Monday.

The thing is, not all of us is lucky enough to have a balanced life where work and play go hand in hand. It’s almost impossible to find a job that you actually do love as well that it doesn’t feel like a job!

We’ve got bills to pay and mouths to feed so we can’t actually be picky about these things.

Working too hard

However, just know that you have a choice. You’re probably suffering from the Monday Blues all your adult life because you’ve been working yourself too hard.

Give yourself a break to recuperate and reenergize before you take on more work.

You could also opt to find another job if your current one is very dissatisfying.

Sometimes, staying with one company for too long can also be toxic to you and stunt your career growth so take risks.

Finally, it’s just a matter of perspective. If you had programmed yourself to hate Mondays, maybe you can start programming yourself to like Mondays? It’s worth a shot.
