Lest you’ve lost count, we’ve all officially endured exactly 20 days of isolation.

That’s a commendable feat considering that we thought we couldn’t survive 3 days of isolation.

So there are just 36 more days to go.

On the bright side, we’re seeing some good results from the daily new cases. At least on average.

Today, there is a total of 931 new cases.

Out of these, 15 are Singaporeans or Singapore PRs.

Yesterday, the number of Singaporeans or Singapore PRs is at 7.

The majority of the cases today are residents from dormitories. MOH will update us on the exact breakdown later tonight.

Based on yesterday’s number, the average number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 31 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 23 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased, from an average of 21 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 15 per day in the past week.

And yesterday, we also got to learn how people got tested positive even after the Circuit Breaker period has kicked in.

A Case of Many Cases After a Case

Yesterday, a spa chain announced how a customer, who had COVID-19, could have potentially infected 5 staff members in an outlet.

He had visited the outlet on 19 March 2020, and the staff members were all tested positive between 9 April to 21 April instead. And do note that the outlet has closed since 7 April 2020 due to the Circuit Breaker measures.

This shows why we’re seeing “spillage” of cases before the Circuit Breaker measures were implemented.
