A Wise Old Man once said:

“A dog is a man’s best friend, and a woman’s most capable protector.”

And though I like to think that men are more capable protectors than canines, I would have to concede with him on this one:

Sometimes, dogs are truly formidable protectors, and the following topic headline just serves to exemplify this glowing notion.

Dog in M’sia Died After Protecting the Family from a Poisonous Snake

On 17 May 2020, Facebook user Alice Minggu posted a heartbreaking entry on the social media platform, detailing her pet’s demise and how the critter had died in the most selfless fashion possible.

According to her, the dog, named Chiko, had spotted a “deadly poison snake” in the family’s dining room, and proceeded to fight it to the death.

When the snake died, the dog shuffled to the car porch, where it rested and soon took its final breath.

“He fought till the snake died and quickly moved over to our car porch and took his final breath. It was so heartbreaking for us to witness the scene and to pull him out of the area seemed almost impossible as he will never backed off.”

The user then paid tribute to the dog, and expressed her wish for them to “reunite” again.

“Truly our best dog ever,” she said. “You will be forever in our heart Chiko. Till we meet again in a better place.

“Goodbye and rest in peace Chiko”

Which, in all honesty, really fits after such a heroic feat.

To end off, Chiko’s described as a very aggressive dog in the post, and one that “will never” back off. And though it’s saddening to say the least…

He did pass away in the bravest, most valiant and worthwhile fashion possible.
