Imagine this: you’re a responsible fellow who decided to buy a thermometer to measure your temperature twice a day. You go to Japan House, the go-to for household essentials, bought one and when you opened it, you saw this:

The first question would be: who is Tiffany Lim, and the second question would be:

This really happened, and what’s even more shocking is the staff’s alleged indifferent response.

And no, the staff’s name isn’t Tiffany.

Woman Allegedly Bought Used Thermometer From Japan Home at Compass One

According to a Facebook user, she had gone to Japan Home in Compass One to buy two thermometers.

From the box, it looks normal.

But when she opened one of them, it obviously belongs to a girl called Tiffany…

…and her class is most probably 3J33.

The Facebook user then went back to the store and requested for a refund.

The staff were allegedly “quite rude” and refused to let her refund. One of them even claimed that “I also bought 2 yesterday, also no problem.”

Needless to say, the Facebook user was so triggered that she posted the entire incident on Facebook, and promised to boycott Japan Home.

Japan Home Has Responded

With such a damning accusation, you bet Japan Home is going to respond.

And respond they did.

However, they didn’t respond publicly but just to the customer. They said that they would be conducting a “full internal investigation on this matter”.

In the meantime, if you really want to get a thermometer, you might want to buy them online instead; one is usually less than $6, which is half the price of what you’d have to pay offline, and they most probably haven’t been used by Tiffany before.
