After days of seemingly good progress, marked by a decline in community infections and unlinked cases, yesterday (14 Jun)’s new cases were a bit of a bombshell—18 new community cases and a dorm infection all on the same day?

Well, believe it or not, today’s situation seems a little worse.

As of 12pm today (15 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

All are community cases. Five of them are unlinked.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,315.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 105 cases in the week before to 49 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 15 cases in the week before to 16 cases in the past week.

COVID-19 Cluster in Bukit Merah View Market Grows to 16 After 14 Jun’s Cases

The 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster that was identified on Sunday (13 Jun) continues to grow, as 10 of yesterday (14 Jun)’s 18 new community cases are linked to it.

They are:

  • A 40-year-old Singaporean woman who is a food stall vendor at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre
  • A 71-year-old Singaporean woman who works as a food stall vendor at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre
  • A 21-year-old Singaporean woman who works as an IT engineer at IBM (Changi Business Park Central 1)
  • A 47-year-old Singaporean man who works as a cooking assistant at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre
  • A 94-year-old Singaporean man who is a retiree and regularly goes to Telok Blangah Parcview Active Ageing Care Hub
  • A 67 year-old Singaporean man who is a general worker at a food stall at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre
  • A 29-year-old India woman who is currently unemployed
  • A 17-year-old Singaporean man who is a student at ITE College Central and has not gone to school since 16 May
  • A 64-year-old Singaporean man who is a retiree
  • A 42-year-old Singaporean man who works as a hawker at Telok Blangah Drive Food Centre

A total of 16 COVID-19 infections are now linked to the cluster at Bukit Merah View market.

The remaining COVID-19 cases that were added to our count yesterday (14 Jun) are:

  • One new community infection which is currently unlinked
  • Six new community infections linked to the Case 64814 cluster
  • One new community infection with an established link, but no connections to any cluster
  • One new dormitory infection
  • Six new imported cases

373 Active Cases

There are currently 138 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 2 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

235 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

34 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
