Lest you’re unaware, disputes across neighbouring units aren’t exactly uncommon.

But to air one in the public eye? Now that’s uncommon.

And just to clarify, there’s more.

Cluttering

It all began on 27 June 2021.

On that ‘fateful’ day, a Netizen, known as Ms Tan, shared photos pertaining to her neighbour’s antics on Facebook.

Apparently, her neighbour would lean against her windows while putting on their shoes, and at one point kept bicycles and even a Personal Mobility Device (PMD) along the common corridor.

A pair of shoes was also hung out to dry, right outside the windows.

The acts led Ms Tan to leave a note, the content of which reads:

“Kindly be more considerate “Human”. Please don’t lean against our window panel while wearing your shoes. Thank you.”

It should be mentioned, however, that the front gate in each picture appears to be different.

This has led Netizens to speculate that there may be two separate homes on display, though it could also be reasoned that there was a repainting job.

Meanwhile, according to news reports, the town council is aware of the issues.

The neighbour was also asked to shift the clutter in stages.

But it appears that it’s not a mere one-sided equation after all.

In response, Ms Tan’s neighbours reportedly pointed out that the corridor is a “shared space”.

They also stated that Ms Tan had situated joss paper resembling kids along the corridor.

In addition, Ms Tan had purportedly tried to frighten their family by claiming to see the previous house owner at their corner flat.

The previous owner has passed away.

The neighbour, known as Mr Wu, also indicated that his family’s conscience is clear, as they have apologised and corrected themselves when initially notified.

In early 2021, an elderly man began harassing Mr Cao, who stays on the fifth floor of block 626, Woodlands Ave 6.

Apparently, the elderly man would throw rubbish at his home from his kitchen window, every 2 to 3 days.

Once, they even managed to catch the elderly man’s actions on camera.

Driven to their wits’ end, the couple lodged a police report and hung a canvas, hoping to deter the elderly man.

Things calmed down for a month after but it did not last.

On 19 May, the family discovered, to their dismay, that the elderly man was allegedly back to his old tricks again.

This time, with eggs.

The police have since recommended that the family seek legal counsel, and the family has lodged a complaint in court.

Neighbours interviewed said that the elderly man breaks out into vulgarities at times, and none of them dared to interact with him.
