Before the advent of social media, a prank was something you pulled once a year on 1 April.

Nowadays, we scare the hell out of our partner every two days just for some laughs online.

In addition to cute cat videos and comedy skits, pranks are one of the most popular forms of uploads on video sharing sites like YouTube and TikTok.

While some of them are downright mean, a few are actually pretty amusing, none more than the “I can’t see” prank.

Ya Hui Scared Chen Liping with Trending ‘I Close My Eyes I Cannot See’ TikTok Prank

A TikTok video of a local actress pranking another is amusing netizens all over the country.

In the video, Ya Hui plays a practical joke Chen Liping – her friend and fellow actress – while the two are seated in a car.

A video of the amusing prank was uploaded to TikTok yesterday (4 July).

The video starts out with Ya Hui, who is behind the camera, suddenly asking Chen Liping to send her to the hospital.

Ya Hui makes the request with a pained voice, and sounds like she’s crying.

Chen, who had her eyes on the phone, quickly turns to Ya Hui looking “stunned and scared” as Ya Hui put it.

As Chen stares at Ya Hui in horror, the latter exclaims: “I close my eyes I cannot see”.

A few seconds pass by without any response as Chen processes what her friend just said. Shock and worry quickly turn to amusement as Chen repeats what Ya Hui says: “Close your eyes cannot see?”

She burst out in laughter soon after.

Realising her error, Chen playfully chastises Ya Hui by smacking her phone.

“You close your eyes you can see or not?” Ya Hui asks her fellow actress.

“Cannot see!” Chen shouts before laughing once again.

Co-Stars in 2009 Movie

The duo were co-stars in 2009’s Reunion Dinner, where Ya Hui played Chen’s daughter.  Both actresses also appeared in the television series “How Are You?”.

The two women are apparently friends, and have even gone on vacation to Hong Kong together, according to 8 Days.

Popular Prank on TikTok

It turns out the “Can’t See When I Close My Eyes” prank has become popular in recent times on TikTok.

The poor victims of the prank, as always, tend to be partners and parents.

Amusingly, some don’t realise they’re being pranked, even when asked if they can see when their eyes are closed.
