While we’re still seeing 3-digit daily cases, the good news is that the number of unlinked cases has dropped.

As of 12pm today (2 Aug), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 111 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

106 of them are community cases.

Of the 106 community cases, 25 are currently unlinked. Amongst the cases, 7 are seniors above 70 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 1,056 cases in the week before to 862 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 119 cases in the week before to 282 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 82.9 and 40.3 respectively.

10 New Clusters Reported Yesterday (1 Aug)

In three of the last four days, 10 new clusters have been reported daily, with eight clusters identified on the other day.

Yesterday, one of the 10 new clusters was linked to Yishun Community Hospital, which has four cases.

Another cluster with five cases was identified at Westlite Mandai Dormitory.

The remaining eight new clusters have three to six infections each.

The Punggol Primary School grew to 14 infections, after one new case was added to it yesterday.

In total, as of yesterday, there are 83 active clusters in Singapore.

590 Cases in Hospitals; 7,576,612 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

590 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 35 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 8 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). 4 amongst these 43 cases are fully vaccinated. Of these, 3 require oxygen supplementation while 1 requires ICU care as they have underlying medical conditions.

29 seniors above 60 years, of whom 26 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.

In total, there are currently 83 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,045 infections.

As of 31 July 2021, 61% of our population has completed their full regimen/ received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme, and 77% has received at least one dose. In total, we have administered a total of 7,576,612 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme, covering 4,307,602 individuals, with 3,391,799 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 104,061 doses of Sinovac vaccines have been administered as of 31 July 2021, covering 74,121 individuals.
