If you’re from Gen Z, chances are you’ve heard of Prime. However, if you’re not familiar with it, let me clarify that the Prime I’m referring to is actually an energy drink and not the supermarket.

Prime is a range of sports and energy drinks that are created by Prime Hydration. There are two variations of the drinks: Hydration and Energy.

The hydration version is non-caffeinated and includes coconut water, electrolytes with zero added sugar. Think of it as H2O or 100Plus. It comes in a variety of flavours, including Ice Pop, Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch, Lemonade, and Meta Moon.

On the other hand, Prime Energy drink offers flavours such as Strawberry Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, Orange Mango, Tropical Punch, and Lemon Lime.

However, a word of caution: the energy drink packs a punch with a whopping 200mg of caffeine in each bottle. To put that in perspective, that’s equivalent to the caffeine content in six cans of Coca Cola, making it advisable only for individuals over 18 years old.

These drinks were first launched in the UK and USA but has since made its way into the Singapore market.

Why is Prime Drink Such a Big Deal?

Prime has gained immense popularity since its launch in January 2022. But what makes it such a big deal?

These drinks have garnered exclusive endorsements from popular YouTubers, KSI and Logan Paul, both boasting more than 20 million subscribers on each of their YouTube channels.

Many have the misconception that KSI and Logan Paul own the company. In reality, while they are notable endorses, they actually reportedly only own 20% stake in the company.

The marketing strategy for these drinks heavily relies on influencers. With a vast number of followers and subscribers, you can imagine the tremendous response their endorsements generate.

To provide you with a sense of its popularity, a staggering 55,000 bottles were sold within just five minutes on their website.

The good news is, if you’ve been eager to try these drinks, they might finally become more readily available and less exclusive in Singapore.

Last year, your best chance of obtaining these drinks was at the SGFR store, but they came at a steep price, ranging from $15 to $20 per bottle.

However, Mustafa soon started selling the drink at $7.90 per bottle last November.

Next, NTUC FairPrice followed suit early this year, selling them at a slightly cheaper price of $7.50 per bottle.

And then came Sheng Siong.

Sheng Siong might just be the saviour for students looking to purchase the drink, as they are now available at the cheapest price yet: $6.75.

The best part, or perhaps the worst part for parents, is that you can even use your CDC vouchers to buy these drinks.

So, whether you’re an avid fan or simply curious, Prime drinks are now within easy reach in Singapore (provided it does not get sold out).

Now, the question is…when is Prime Supermarket’s turn?
