If you were to visit a blood donation bank in Singapore and looked very closely at the bags swelling with blood, you’d see something odd.

Tiny black balls.

Is there something wrong with Singaporeans? Is there an epidemic going around?

Not quite. It’s just pearls.

Singaporeans drink so much bubble tea they literally bleed it. Doctors were shocked at first, but then they tried bubble tea too and then they understood.

That’s why whenever Singaporeans come across an article about a new bubble tea shop, they teleport to the store before even finishing the article.

And if a certain Mandopop star endorses this bubble tea store, well, then you should expect madness on the streets.

Bubble Tea Shop Featured in Jay Chou’s MV Coming to S’pore in Jan 2020

If you’re a fan of Jay Chou, you might have seen this music video:

If you’re watching it for the first time, you’d notice that it features a certain bubble tea store called Machi Machi.

Machi Machi is a Taiwanese bubble tea chain known for its cheese tea, according to Mothership.

And Jay Chou loves the bubble tea store so much that he chose to include it in one of his music videos.

Reader: Why do you assume I’m a fan of Jay Chou? And who cares what kind of bubble tea he likes?

Well, what if I told you that Machi Machi was coming to Singapore?

Reader: Forgive my insolence, dear writer. Please tell me more.

Coming in Jan 2020

According to Ladyironchef, Machi Machi is opening in Singapore at a yet-to-be-revealed location in Jan 2020.

The bubble tea shop already has its own Facebook page for its Singapore outlet and is currently hiring staff.

They also have branches in Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and Korea.
