Friend: Hey! We’re heading to McDonald’s. Do you want to come along?

Me: Nah, I’ll pass.

Friend: Really? You’re dieting again? How many times have you tried and failed at it?

If the above describes your countless attempt at dieting, you are not alone. There are many times I tried to diet by skipping all the fast food restaurants and eating only leafy greens for three meals a day.

It obviously didn’t work.

Therefore, my job here is to show you that there are other more effective ways of dieting that doesn’t always require sacrificing your favourite fried chicken wings.

Yes, you heard me. You can diet while still eating at fast-food restaurants.

Don’t believe me? Read on.

Girl Loses 15kg After Colleague Said She Had ‘Big Legs’

A Taiwanese girl recently went on the Chinese platform, DCard, to share her personal experience of losing 15kg after only eating fast food items for three meals a day.

She mentioned that her decision to lose weight was because she overheard a colleague speaking about how big her legs were in a skirt.

She wrote in her post, “I personally heard a colleague say that my legs were too thick, and yet I dared to wear a skirt. But because of you, I am the person I am now. Without you, I may still be 70kg.”

She further stated that she works at McDonald’s, which means that she eats it three times a day. However, she has very specific items that she eats and items that she avoids at all costs.

The McDonald’s Diet

She stated that, “I don’t touch french fries, fried chicken skin, apple pies, burger buns and sugary drinks. I only eat the burger meat, lettuce, eggs, crispy chicken wings, non-sugary drinks and peeled fried chicken.”

She also restricts her diet in other ways, such as not having supper, boba milk tea, and only indulging in sugarless drinks when she is craving sweet treats. On top of that, she drinks lots of water that contributed to her weight loss greatly.

Of course, there will be times where she had to struggle with her temptations to break her diet. She mentioned how she really wanted to eat french fries at first, but resisted. She also disliked plain water, but chose to drink plenty of it anyway.

In addition to the discipline in controlling her diet, she also exercised regularly to make sure she slims down. She would run 10 laps at least three to four times a week, and even go to the gym occasionally.

Her hard work had paid off, for she went down from an original size of XXL to M, and to an S within a month. When she saw her result, she wanted to cry.

Would you just look at that?!

I mean, I would cry for her. Out of joy.

The girl specified that no diet pills were used for her weight loss, and encouraged those who want to lose weight to not skimp on food.

“Please don’t go on a diet. If you choose not to eat and lose weight, you may never eat again. There are so many delicious things in the world, if you don’t eat it, it would be such a waste.”

Which I agree, wholeheartedly. Dieting should be about choosing your food wisely, instead of ditching your favourite food altogether. Of course, exercise is also needed to stay healthy. It helps with your weight loss process too.

In conclusion, eat everything in moderation, have a balanced diet, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly. I’m pretty sure you’ll look your best in no time.

You’re welcome.
