It’s been two years, and people in Singapore have missed out on a lot of things, including:

  • Singing at karaoke
  • Go out without wearing a mask
  • Binge-eat on Taiwanese sausage and Ramly burger at pasar malams.

Well, you’ll be glad to know that the three things mentioned above are going to be available soon.

Yes, including pasar malams.

*Cue cat cheers*

Here’s a List of Neighbourhood Pasar Malams That Are Coming Soon

According to the folks at Singapore Atrium Sale, people in Singapore can look forward to having pasar malams nearby again in these areas:

  • Ang Mo Kio Central (9-24 Apr 2022)
  • Clementi Central Blk 449 (13 Apr – 3 May 2022)
  • Outside Punggol MRT & Bus Interchange (17 Apr – 2 May 2022)

As you can probably see from the dates within the list, you don’t have to chiong for the first pasar malam happening in Singapore.

There are ones that last all the way until July 2022, so unless you live near the area, you’re better off waiting for the excitement to die down (at least a little) before you attempt to brave the crowd.

It’s not only the smaller pasar malams that are returning to the Singapore scene.

The mother of all pasar malam with the hippest food and drinks is back this year as well.

Geylang Ramadan Bazaar Returns This Year But at a Smaller Scale

The Ramadan Bazaar at Geylang Serai has always been the one of the main highlights of the year for the Muslim community, staked out in dazzling and multi-coloured lights and the nostalgic scents wafting from street food stalls.

For two years, Singapore’s Malay and Muslim communities were unable to visit the bazaar due to COVID-19 constraints.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen this year and Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2022, as well as its counterpart, the Ramadan Souk market at Kampong Gelam, will operate until 1 May 2022.

According to Eatbook.sg, some notable food stalls that cannot be missed include:

  • Praffles by Footitude – a well-known name since 2019 for their prata waffles stuffed with sweet or savoury fillings

  • Ramly – at this stall, burgers are made fresh to order and prices start from S$4.50
  • MILK – a halal bubble tea stall with event-exclusive drinks priced exclusively at S$5 for 1 litre

Expansion Coming on 14 Apr 2022

Previously, it was reported that the Geylang Serai Bazaar will be kept small due to public health concerns.

But that will change (slightly) from 14 Apr 2022.

it was announced that another 30 stalls will be added to the bazaar.

10 will be food-and-beverage (F&B) stalls will the remaining 20 will be retail stalls.

The new stalls will be located near to Tanjong Katong Complex.
