The rivalry between fandoms is not new. But it seems like some fans are willing to go to extreme lengths and do vicious things to the rivals of their favourite artists.

Some Jay Chou fans allegedly cooked up a nefarious plan to harm local artist JJ Lin at his concert in Shanghai.

Laser pointers pointed at JJ Lin’s eyes were the choice of harm for these extreme fans.

Thankfully, they did not succeed in their plans to “blind” JJ Lin.

Here is more on what happened.

Jay Chou Fans Plotted to Harm JJ Lin During His Shanghai Concert

In a Weibo post made earlier this week, a netizen exposed some unruly Jay Chou fans for trying to harm JJ Lin.

The location was JJ Lin’s concert in Shanghai. JJ Lin is currently on a world tour and performed in Singapore as part of his tour stops.

The netizen, who goes by the moniker of 知名少女娱鬼鬼 (roughly translates to Knowing Young Woman Yu Gui Gui), asked why Jay Chou fans hated JJ Lin so much.

The netizen queried if there was bad blood between the two Mandopop artists.

Jay Chou’s fans had allegedly brought laser pointers into the concert and shone them at JJ Lin’s eyes to “blind him”.

There was an image in the post which showed a screenshot from a group chat. There was a message from a participant that they would be attending JJ Lin’s concert and had prepared laser lights.

They even secured front seats to try and shine the lights at JJ Lin to “blind” him.

The other messages in the chat asked those who were attending the concert to be careful not to get caught.

In the post, the netizen attached an image of what appears to be the crowd at a JJ Lin concert, with some red and green dots circled.

The red and green dots appeared to be the laser pointer lights.

Another image showed a little white dot on JJ Lin’s face. This light was believed to be from a laser pointer.

In another photo attached to the post, JJ Lin’s left eye appears slightly red.

Some believed that this was a sign that the toxic fans got what they wanted by shining the lights on JJ Lin.

Then again, it could just be some smudged eye make up.
