When a road rage video garnered over 1.8 million views in less than a day, you can bet that the authorities would have to step in.

And step in they did.

In less than 24 hours, this video has been shared over 11,000 times and viewed over 1.8 million times on Facebook:

It basically showed a woman pushing a MPV back as the MPV continued to move forward. She then yanked the car plate off and tossed it at the MPV, while another person flipped the bird at the MPV.

Now, the Malaysian police has come out to provide more details.

M’sia Police Investigating Road Rage Incident & Provided More Details

It wasn’t exactly clear what happened prior to that, but the Malaysian police has posted an update online.

It turns out to be what was speculated: a lane change had triggered the road rage. Both cars were switching lane when the MPV grazed the Kia Cerato that the woman was in—or, if you look at it from another angle, the Kia Cerato grazed the MPV while switching lane.

Both cars were on their way back to Singapore, and both are Singapore-registered cars.

The MPV, now confirmed to be a Toyota Alphard, was driven by a 51-year-old Singaporean who’s reportedly a businessman. He was the one who had called the police.

It was also reported that during the incident, there were two children in his car.

The woman who went apeshit is reportedly about 45 years old.

There was no injury reported from any party.

The police have classified it as a case of mischief, and they’re now trying to locate the suspects, presumably the man and the woman, since they should have the Toyota Alphard driver’s contact as he also provided them with the dashcam footage.

Which, of course, leads us to wonder: would the footage also comprise the period when he drove forward as the woman was pushing the car?
