It’s bad enough to take images of people sneakily when you’re working.

It’s even worse when you take the images and post it on a WhatsApp group, and then started a “Hot or Not?” contest there.

That’s what a guy did, and suffice to say, it didn’t end well.

Meet Yixian, who obviously didn’t have many friends.

Police Report Made Against Temperature Screener Who Took Pics of Girls & Posted in WhatsApp Group

It all started with this thread in Hardwarezone forums.

Someone posted screenshots of a WhatsApp group called G.R.O.C., whereby a guy by the name of Yixian posted images that he had taken sneakily while working as a temperature screener at a supermarket.

In fact, he did more than that: he even remembers the age of a girl and allegedly has the number of another girl, as these people presumably need to provide their personal details for contact tracing.

And like what a Wise Old Man said, “Nothing online is private. Not even a private WhatsApp group with friends, because they might not be friends.”

Well, the Wise Old Man was right.

Within hours after this exposé, Cold Storage knew about it.

It apparently happened in the outlet at The Rail Mall, and with that, they’ve immediately removed Yixian from his post and made a police report.

According to Daily Farm, the parent company of Cold Storage (and Giant as well), Yixian only started work last week as a temporary staff member to screen temperature and do contact tracing after the enhanced Circuit Breaker measures were announced.

They added, “We have also reminded all our temporary staff at our stores currently manning our temperature (screening) and contact tracing stations that such behaviour will be dealt with quickly, and where necessary, with legal action.”

In case you didn’t know, The Rail Mall is at Upper Bukit Timah Road.

We’ve actually made a video about the mall before which you can watch here:
