Before anyone gets confused, do note that we’ve not made a typo: it’s not Tindle, but TiNDLE. Yes, brands are getting more creative and making our job a tad harder.

Now, moving on: if there’s one of the things we can agree on as Singaporeans, it’s that we love to eat.

And much like technology, food styles are also advancing.

This is especially true for plant-based and vegetarian food, so those who consume this diet have more choices.

We even talked about how local start-up Next Gen Foods raised S$13.4 million for the launch of an alternative chicken product.

But now, they’re ready to take the local market by storm.

TiNDLE, a Plant-Based Meat Brand, Will Launch in S’pore in 11 Restaurant Brands from 18 March

Releasing on 18 March, Next Gen Foods will launch its plant-based chicken brand TiNDLE on across 11 restaurant brands.

And instead of chicken thigh, they’ll be serving what’s called a TiNDLE Thy.

Here are some of the ingredients that make it up:

  • water
  • soy
  • a trademarked ingredient called Lipi which is a blend of “plant-based fats and flavour”
  • sunflower oil

There are apparently a total of nine different ingredients that make up the TiNDLE Thy. It is also antibiotic and hormone-free.

But the kiasu-ness in us might ask, “Is it safe to eat?”

Well, it’s been certified by the Health Promotion Board as a Healthier Choice option containing and contains less saturated fat and sodium than other plant-based alternatives.

It’s also going to be all-natural ingredients, unlike Impossible Foods which uses genetically-engineered soy.

So yeah, pretty safe, and it looks pretty darn good as well.

Three Bun’s group executive chef Adam Penney is said to have been perfecting this item for 20 years.

And by the looks of it, the burger sure does look scrumptious.

Ms Jean Madden, chief marketing officer of Next Gen Foods, said the products were developed alongside chefs who were harsh critiques.

She feels if these amazing chefs can be satisfied with the product, the customer will be too.

Where You Might Find These Items

As mentioned, these items will be spread across 11 restaurants brands, so you’ve got a small food journey to plan!

For example, the Prive restaurant chain will serve the TiNDLE katsu curry.
