If your goal for 2021 is to go through the year without being tested for COVID-19, you’re probably not going to achieve it.

The new normal is testing, testing and more testing, and if you intend to visit someone in SGH from tomorrow onwards, you’d need to go through a COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART).

Visitors to SGH Will Need to Undergo COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests Before Entry

If 2020 was all about TraceTogether, then 2021 would be all about TestTogether.

SGH has just announced the formation of a new centre, the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) Centre, which will be located at Bowyer Block, 11 Third Hospital Ave Singapore 168751.

The centre will be open between 8am to 6pm daily, and is for visitors who will be in the premises for more than 20 minutes, newly admitted patients and existing inpatients from tomorrow (21 June) onwards.

People would have to be tested negative become they can enter the premises.

According to SGH, this is “in line with the country’s transition into Phase 3 (Heightened Alert).”

Here’s what a visitor will go through:

In other words, it’s kind of like a pre-event testing.

However, if you’re going to be in the hospital for less than 20 minutes, you won’t need to go through the test.

You’d still need to go through the test even if you’ve done a test more than a day before (more than 24 hours ago). If you’ve done your test in the last 24 hours, you would need to show proof that it’s done in the last 24 hours.

You’d still need to register at the Visitor Services Counter first before proceeding to the ART centre for your test.

In addition, the test is required even if you’re fully vaccinated.

For existing inpatients, their designated caregivers will receive an SMS with information about undergoing the ART.

Newly admitted patients and their caregivers will be provided information upon admission.
