We all love our pets and would do anything for them.

This is why, as I write this article, the Goody Feed office cat is getting each of its legs massaged by a different writer. We have a roster and everything.

In more normal environments, owners typically show love by petting and cuddling with their pets, giving them lots of treats, and caring for them.

You know, things pets like.

This woman, however, went a slightly different route, and got her something most parents don’t give their favourite child:

Woman Bought Gold Necklace for Her Pet Cat Called ‘Money’

A Malaysian woman has gone viral on TikTok after purchasing an extravagant gift for her pet cat.

Her pet cat, incidentally, is called “Money”. The video, shared earlier this month, has been shared over 1,000 times.

The video starts out with someone trying to remove a very well-dressed cat from a slick-looking BMW:

A man and a woman then head to a jewellery store with the cat, and end up purchasing a gold necklace.

You’d assume it was for the man or woman, or another human, right?

Nope.

Yes, it was for the cat. With a name like “Money”, I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised.

The cat can then be seen prancing across the glass display, showing off its latest gift.

Necklace Cost S$8,400

Believe it or not, the cat’s owner, Haliza Maysuri, forked out RM25,980 (S$8,400) for the necklace, as it was custom made.

It was given to Money as a birthday gift, as he had just turned four. Engraved on the heart-shaped pendant is the Persian cat’s name:

I’m sure he’ll greatly appreciate the shiny new thing around his neck.

Founder of Malaysian Hijab Brand

Maysuri is the founder of Bawal Exclusive, a Malaysian hijab brand that grabbed the headlines last year when it came up with a RM100,000 tudung.

In an interview with Malay Mail, she revealed that her husband is very fond of Money and has been attached to the cat since they got her.

“My husband adores her very much and will take her for all his work trips or our vacations.

“And while Money’s birthday is on May 9, we only got the gold necklace much later because during that time, the country was still under lockdown.

“We wanted a custom-made gold necklace for her and gold is always a good investment,” she said.

Well, I guess you can’t argue with that.

On other days, when Money isn’t getting custom gold necklaces made for her, she goes for spa sessions and is groomed monthly.

I never thought I’d say this, but man, I really wish I was a cat.
